Eating too much gluten gives me a hangover.
Seriously. I wake up foggy brained with a headache, neckache, and my ears and eyes hurt. It’s almost like eating too much gluten gives me a sinus infection. It’s not worth it.
But when I inadvertently spent waaaay too much money on this birthday cake I had to eat a piece. Or three.
We’re all human.
But I felt gross enough after those indulgences that I made sure to get a good grain free meal plan together for the week, one to serve my entire family. I generally eat eggs with spinach or kale every day. And that’s probably still what I’ll eat. But since I’m writing this blog for you, dear readers, I’m sure you’d like a bit more variety.
This week’s groceries cost me $120 for this meal plan (Minus the baby. And the naked cat.) I honestly don’t know if that’s good or bad. Let me know in the comments, how much is your typical grocery bill?
Baked apples & cherries with chopped walnuts
Scrambled eggs with spinach or kale. To spice it up add feta & pine nuts (TASTY!)
Soaked oats with chopped apples
Goats milk yogurt with chopped pear
Mixed greens, blueberries, hard boiled eggs, sunflower seeds, tricolor pepper strips, balsamic vinegar and olive oil
My kids eat lunch at daycare and my husband eats out. I’m lucky that I don’t have to pack lunch for anyone, but most likely I would just be giving them dinner leftovers anyway.
Grain Free Mac & Cheese with spinach
2 Ingredient stuffed sweet pepper poppers with sauteed broccoli
I’m obsessed with my chocolate shakeology. This incredible drink is packed with a multitude of superfoods that are really boosting my energy. But even better than how good I feel, is that it’s chocolate.
It feels like dessert, but it’s actually healthy. Which means that it fills my chocolate fix and I don’t NEED to eat chocolate anymore. So I don’t.
